It is not mandatory for you to provide your personally identifiable information and other possible information about you to use or visit MigraineDisorders.org. We will not collect your personally identifiable information unless it has been clearly provided by you. If you decide to sign up to any tools or services (newsletters, alerts, patient forums or blogs,), you will need to provide some personally identifiable information to us along with your clear consent for us to use it. We may provide, only with your approval, a limited amount of your personally identifiable information to help others suffering from similar problems.
As we do not control third party websites to which we provide links, the collection and use of your personally identifiable information by such websites shall be subject to the policies and procedures of those third party websites.
We may also gather some non-personally identifiable information about you during your use or visit to the site via cookies (small text files that identify your computer) or web beacons (code that measures how many people are using our Site). You can be sure that no personally identifiable information will be collected from you without you voluntarily providing it to us. We collect data (zip code, age, gender, preferences) at an aggregate level (non personal information and at a mass level) to evaluate the quality of the information we provide on the Site. Again, the reason for this is to better design our website in service of your particular needs.
We do not “market” your personal information, and only use it to optimize your experience of our Site.
In some rare instances we may assist governmental agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention, or “hacking”. We may do so when we a permitted or required by law, trying to prevent against actual or potential fraud or unauthorized use of our website and any transactions related to the Site, or investigating fraud which has already taken place. We shall use the best anti-viral and malware programs available in addition to encryption of certain personal information. None of this information would be provided for third party marketing purposes, which we do not engage in, nor do we intend to.

Only authorized agents of The Association of Migraine Disorders, to include Directors and independent contractors at present, can have access to this information. All of the aforementioned individuals haves signed a form agreeing to keep this information safe and secure. If you wish, all of our emails and newsletters give you the opportunity to opt out of any future mailings.
